The Comunità Montana Gran Sasso is an association of a total of 9 municipalities in the Italian province of Teramo . It was formed by the usually quite small communities, which are at least partly in mountainous regions, in order to strengthen the region's economic development and to stop the population from emigrating. Further tasks are the strengthening of tourism, nature conservation and the preservation of rural culture.
The area of the Comunità Montana Gran Sasso covers an area of 44,886 hectares and has a total of around 20,900 inhabitants. The eponymous mountain Gran Sasso d'Italia also belongs to the territory of the Comunità Montana Gran Sasso.
