history

The name of the community comes from the Latin Fanum Adriani , whose name comes from Roman times. Probably the area was settled by different peoples at that time. The place was first mentioned in several documents in the 15th century. The municipality is located in the valley of the Vomano , a river in Abruzzo. The village has a medieval building style and maintains several churches from this period in the region. In the oldest part of the village is the parish church from the sixteenth century. The old church of Sant'Egidio is in the district of Cerqueto . It has been restored several times.
