Bellante is an Italian commune ( comune ) with 6960 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Teramo in Abruzzo . The municipality is located about 12.5 kilometers northeast of Teramo . The southern border is formed by the Tordino with the expressway. Part of the municipality belongs to the Valle del Tordino .

While the main town of Bellante is in the mountains, the district of Rippatoni (or Rippatone ) is located south of it on the banks of the Tordino . There is also the train station on the line from Teramo to Giulianova . Furthermore, the Strada regional 80 del Gran Sasso and the expressway, the Strada Statale 80 Raccordo di Teramo , which joins the A24 autostrada to L'Aquila and Rome , run on the southern edge .
