Controguerra is an Italian commune in the province of Teramo in the Abruzzo region . It is located in the far north of the region on the border with the Marche, only about eight kilometers from the coast of the Adriatic Sea. It has 2302 inhabitants who are called Controguerresi .

The neighboring municipalities are Ancarano , Colonnella , Corropoli , Monsampolo del Tronto , Monteprandone , Nereto , Spinetoli and Torano Nuovo .

Viticulture

The municipality gives its name to the Controguerra wine-growing region . In the surroundings of the village and vines are varieties Montepulciano for the DOC - wine Montepulciano d'Abruzzo grown.
