The neighboring municipalities are: Bellante , Castellalto , Giulianova , Notaresco , Roseto degli Abruzzi , Sant'Omero and Tortoreto .

The municipality is located around 25 km from the provincial capital Teramo .

The name of the community comes from the Latin musius . In 897 this was first mentioned in a document from the municipality. In the Middle Ages, a monastery, an abbey and several churches were built in the area. There are still remains of old watchtowers in the community.

railway station

Mosciano Sant'Angelo has a small main train station. The trains from Teramo to Giulianova pass through the station. From Mosciano Sant'Angelo the train goes to the terminus in Giulianova. The whole route is only 26 km long.
