Montefino is a municipality with 983 inhabitants and is located near Castiglione Messer Raimondo and Castilenti in the Italian province of Teramo . The village is a member of the Comunità Montana del Vomano, Fino e Piomba .

The districts (fractions) include Bozza, Brecciata, Crocetta Santa Maria, Floriano, Manzitti, Marciano and Muraglie.

The municipality is located about 36 km from the capital of the province, the city of Teramo and 27 km from the Adriatic coast.

history

The origins of the community go back to pre-Roman times. A fortified colony was established by the Sabines . The village was first mentioned in writing in 1150. In the Middle Ages, a castle and several fortifications were built in the area.
