Concetta Lenza

Concetta Lenza (* 1954 in Salerno ) is an Italian architectural historian and university professor .

Live and act

Lenza has been Full Professor of Architectural History at the University of Naples Federico II since 2001 and was Dean of the Faculty of Architecture there from 2005 to 2009 . She is a senior member of the Council of the National Conference of Presidents of the Faculties of Architecture. As scientific director, she coordinated research projects in the field of Italian cultural heritage, such as the project initiated by Benitalia for the ecological and architectural redesign and upgrading of the historic center of Lecce or the project funded by the company Grandi Stazioni to review the history of the city's central train station in Naples . In 2008 her focus was on the PRIN research project (Project of Significant National Interest) The asylum complexes in Italy between the nineth and twentyieth century.

Lenza is currently a member of the board of directors of ICOMOS Italia, the Istituto Nazionale di Studi sul Rinascimento Meridionale and the Centro di Studi per la Storia dell'Architettura in Rome as well as a corresponding member of the Accademia di Archeologia and the association Lettere e Belle Arti in Naples. She is also a member of the scientific advisory board of the Werner Oechslin Library Foundation and the scientific advisory board of the Palladio magazine .
