The Concheiros of Comporta (also called clam heaps of Sado ) are prehistoric kitchen garbage heaps of different periods (from Mesolithic to the end of the Neolithic ). They are north of Comporta . The place is on the sea side of the estuary of the Rio Sado , about 20 km south of Setúbal in Portugal .

Centrally, about 1.5 km north of Comporta, directly in front of the houses of the Celeiro Velho is the Concheiro Cambado. The Concheiros Barrosinha, Malhada Alta, Pontal, Possanco (Malhinha or Malhadinha) and Sapalinho are nearby.

These are sand dunes that were at least seasonally inhabited either in the Mesolithic or during the Neolithic-Copper Age (around 3500–1500 BC). As the inhabitants of that time preferred to eat mussels, a more or less thick layer with remains of marine and mollusc fauna has formed and preserved on some sand hills.
