Confixx is a free web server distribution with a configuration tool for web hosting offers, but its further development has been discontinued.
With Confixx, for example, it is possible to easily manage e-mail addresses, domains , databases and the like on remote web servers without having to resort to operating system functions.
Alongside Plesk, Confixx has been described as one of the “greats of the profession [hosting management software]”. The software was particularly widespread in the German-speaking market. At the beginning of 2009 it was used on 30,000 servers, according to the manufacturer.
Confixx was bought by the software company Parallels Inc. (formerly SWsoft Inc. ) and was previously in direct competition with the configuration tool Plesk, also offered by this company . According to Parallels, no further Confixx licenses have been sold since September 24, 2012.
