Connie Francis sings German Favorites Looking for Love
(1964)

Connie Francis sings German Favorites is the title of a US album by Connie Francis .

From her first German-language single, Die Liebe ist ein Stranglespiel, in the late summer of 1960, Connie Francis made a name for herself as a recognized singer with several top ten hits in Germany.

In the USA her polyglot music repertoire became known with albums in Spanish, Italian, Hebrew and Yiddish. The albums were each published as Connie Francis sings Italian Favorites , Connie Francis sings Jewish Favorites , Connie Francis sings Irish Favorites , etc. Connie Francis sings German Favorites was the seventh album in the series.

Originally planned for publication in the summer of 1963, Connie Francis sings German Favorites was only launched almost a year late due to the postponed publication of the album Connie Francis sings Award Winning Motion Picture Hits from summer 1962 to spring 1963 .

The album Connie Francis sings German Favorites was the first recording in the world to contain the complete version of Love is a strange game with all three stanzas. Originally the song was according to the scheme

  • 1st verse - 1st chorus - 2nd verse - 2nd chorus - 3rd verse - 3rd chorus

been recorded. Since the pronunciation of Connie Francis in the first verse was unclear and grammatically incorrect, the first verse had been cut out before the single was released in Germany, so that the song begins with the first chorus.
