The Cono Island ( Spanish Islote Cono , in the United Kingdom Cone Island , both roughly translated cone island ) is a conspicuous cone-shaped island off the southwestern part of the West Antarctic Adelaide Island . It is located south of the group of Chatos Islands .
Participants of an Argentine Antarctic expedition that lasted from 1952 to 1953 gave her her descriptive name, which was translated into English by the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names in 1964 and fully translated by the UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee in the same year.
