Konrad Bayer

Conrad Bayer (also Konrad Bayer ; born November 10, 1828 in Olomouc , † September 21, 1897 in Vienna ) was an old Austrian chess composer and theorist of the Old German School . His most famous chess problem is the Immortal Chess Problem .

Typical for Bayer's tasks were four and five-move trains with silent, hidden moves, sacrifices to guide the driver and the main variant that ended with a matt finish and was difficult to find. By 1870 he won several international composition tournaments, including the first hosted by The Era in 1856 .
