Conrad Zellweger (* allegedly in 1559 in Appenzell , † 15. November 1648 in memory ; heimatberechtigt in Teufen ) was a Swiss commune Captain , country Weibel , Landammann and Diet envoy from the canton of Appenzell Outer Rhodes .

Life

Conrad Zellweger was a son of Conrad Zellweger. As a supporter of the reformed faith, he moved to Herisau in 1588 . He worked as a landlord, glazier and glass painter . In 1598 he was municipal governor, from 1604 to 1613 Landweibel and from 1613 to 1642 Landammann as well as delegate of the Diet. During this time he lived in Teufen. Zellweger worked from 1621 to 1622 as a mediator in the Graubünden turmoil and from 1629 to 1632 worked on the revision of the Ausserrhoder Landbuch. Stained glass from his hand can be found in the St. Gallen Historical Museum .
