Conrado San Martín

Conrado San Martín Prieto (also Conrado Sanmartin , Corrado Sammartin and other similar writings, born February 20, 1921 in Higuero de las Dueñas , province of Ávila ; † April 24, 2019 ) was a Spanish actor .

Life

San Martín's film career - before he appeared as an amateur boxer - began with the 1941 Oro vil , a western parody . In the decade that has just begun, in addition to his film roles, he was seen on stage as a member of the “Sociedad de Cayetano Luca”. In 1950 he celebrated his final breakthrough with his role in Apartado de correos 1001 , which led to numerous of his more than 120 appearances as a leading actor in the 1950s. In the following years the size of his roles decreased more and more, even after he had failed with his production company "Laureus Film".

In the late 1960s, he retired from acting for some time and returned in 1976; from then on he combined film and television appearances with stage roles.

In 1997, San Martín was awarded the Fotogramas de Plata for his life's work; In 2003 he received such an award from the Association of Spanish Cinema Writers.
