Laurențiu Rebega
Constantin Laurențiu Rebega (born February 20, 1976 in Vălenii de Munte ) is a Romanian politician .
Life
Rebega studied agricultural science and veterinary medicine in Bucharest and graduated from the Grindsted Agricultural Academy in Denmark in 2006 . Since 2007 he has held leading positions in agriculture and county government.
The Romanian anti-corruption agency DNA has been conducting criminal investigations against him for money laundering and bribery since 2015 .
He was elected to the European Parliament for the Partidul Conservator in 2014. There he is a member of the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development , the Committee on Petitions and the delegation to the EU-Turkey Joint Parliamentary Committee. On July 15, 2015, Rebega declared that he would be converting from the social democratic S&D group to the right-wing group Europe of Nations and Freedom . He was elected deputy chairman of the group. On March 2, 2018, he left the group and switched to the European Conservatives and Reformists group on April 3, 2018 .
