Constantin stickleback
Carl Wilhelm Constantin Stichling (born April 10, 1766 in Weimar ; † August 24, 1836 there ) was the Grand Ducal Saxon Chamber Director and President of the Chamber College.
Education and professional career
Constantin Stichling is the son of the merchant and merchant Ernst Christoph Stichling. Like his father, he was initially supposed to become a businessman, but then broke off the business apprenticeship that had already started and studied in Jena Cameralia.
After completing his training, he found a job with the Cameral and Tax Administration in Weimar, first as a secretary, then as an assessor, councilor and finally as director and president of the Chamber College.
As a part-time job, he was entrusted with the administration and restructuring of the completely broken finances of the University of Jena . He eliminated the then temporary bankruptcy of the academic treasury and even accumulated reserves, so that he left the university finances in a relatively prosperous condition when he died. For his efforts to reorganize the finances of the University of Jena, he was honored by the Ernestine Dukes with the Commander's Cross of the joint Ernestine House Order and by the University with the title of Honorary Doctor of Laws. From the Grand Duke of Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach he received the Knight's Cross and later the Commander's Cross of the House Order of the White Falcon .
Life
Constantin Stichling was initially married to Julie Wieland, Christoph Martin Wieland's daughter. From this marriage there were three children.
In his second marriage he was connected to Theodore Luise von Herder , the daughter of Johann Gottfried von Herders . From this second marriage three more children were born to him. One of them was the future Minister of State Gottfried Theodor Stichling (1814-1891).
