Life

Castiglioni is part of Chilean descent and grew up in Lugano in the Swiss Ticino on. Although she did not receive any training in the fashion industry, she founded the fashion company Marni Srl in Milan together with her husband Gianni Castiglioni in 1994 and took on the post of creative director. Marni was initially intended as a young second line of the fur fashion company called Ciwifurs , which Gianni Castglioni's father had founded in 1950.

In the following years, Consuelo Castiglioni made a name for herself internationally as Marni creative director with intelligent designs that were characterized by strong colors, geometric prints, modern shapes and cuts, some in vintage style, as well as unconventional materials. The luxurious, modern interior of the Marni boutiques, the number of which has grown to around 100 worldwide over time, was designed personally by Castiglioni. In 2012, under Castiglioni's leadership, the company entered into a cooperation with H&M .

At the end of 2016, Castiglioni and the rest of her family withdrew completely from the Marni company after Marni had already been taken over by the Diesel founder Renzo Rosso and his Italian Only The Brave Holding (OTB) in 2012 . In 2018 the Castiglioni family launched a new fashion brand called Plan C.
