Contact is a kid's game in the form of a placement game by Ken Garland.
The game was first published in 1969 by James Galt and Company in the United States as Connect . In 1970 Ravensburger published it in various editions as Connect or Contact . In 1982 the license was transferred to Ravensburger, and in 1984 Ravensburger published a new edition as Rivers, Road and Rails or Contact with illustrations by Josef Löflath .
The game for two to ten people is suitable for children from the age of four and takes about 20 minutes.
In 1971 the game received the federal “Gute Form” award from the German Design Council .
Game flow and goal
At the beginning of the game, each player is given a number of square cards on which three traffic routes can be depicted: river, railroad and road. The remaining cards are stacked. There are “straight” cards with connections on opposite edges, “curve” cards and two branches; furthermore, traffic routes can end or begin on each map. In turn, each player can place a card (provided all traffic routes fit), then a card must be drawn from the stack. The object of the game is to be the first to get rid of all of your cards.
