The CONTAINEX Container Handelsgesellschaft mbH is a subsidiary of Austrian Walter Group, based in the industrial center south of Lower Austria in Wiener Neudorf .
history
In 1978 the LKW Walter company started trading Euro pallets . This business field was expanded with the trade in ISO containers . In 1981 the company Containex Containerhandelsgesellschaft mbH was founded.
The original business field of pallet trading was closed in 1985. However, the trade in ISO containers, which at that time were mainly traded as used containers, was greatly expanded. The main markets were Austria and Germany .
Between 1985 and 1998 the following countries were supplied with containers: Austria , Germany , Netherlands , Switzerland , Italy , France , Spain , Portugal , Great Britain . Only the Austrian area was opened up as a business-to-consumer market with its own container rental, while the remaining countries were handled as business-to-business markets via dealer partners.
Since 1998, the business area has been expanded to include the following countries: Italy , Hungary , Poland , Romania , Bulgaria , Russian Federation , Slovakia , the Czech Republic , Ukraine .
The only branch office is located in Kufstein . In the 2009/2010 financial year, sales of 128 million euros were achieved. In 2009 the company reached third place and in 2010 second place among the big players of Austria's Leading Companies .
The Minister of Economic Affairs, Reinhold Mitterlehner , presented the company with the state award in October 2010 .
Products
As a further development of the product, so-called office containers were developed from simple ISO containers . This relationship can still be seen today through the same dimensions, such as "office container 20 '". Originally, the office containers were mainly used on construction sites instead of the usual construction trailers at the time. In the course of time these containers have been further developed in such a way that large office container systems can be built from individual office containers. This resulted in the development of sanitary containers . The company's containers are provided with RAL color 5010 (gentian blue) or according to customer requirements, which are applied by means of cathodic dip painting .
In 2009 over 50,000 containers in different designs were sold across Europe. There were also over 15,000 containers in the rental fleet.
