Els Cavallets

For the feast of the patron saint Sant Agustí, the dance “Els Cavallets”, which is an ancient fertility ritual, is performed in Felanitx one morning in August. 10 to 13 year old boys in white trousers, red jackets and green hats dance around a young girl (La Dama) in a white skirt, green jacket and red hat. This festival is supposed to take place since the foundation of the convent in 1603.
