The Cook Ice Shelf is an ice shelf 88 km in diameter that occupies a deep bay on the East Antarctic George V coast between Cape Freshfield and Cape Hudson .

It was discovered during the Australasian Antarctic Expedition (1911-1914) under the direction of the Australian polar explorer Douglas Mawson , who originally named it Cook Bay . It is named after the politician Joseph Cook (1860–1947), then Prime Minister of Australia.
