The Cooper Industries plc was originally American company with headquarters in Dublin in Ireland and US American headquarters in Houston , Texas . The company was founded in 1833 in Mount Vernon , Ohio . It is one of the oldest large companies still in existence in the United States. The company, which is listed on the New York Stock Exchange, was mainly active in the toolmaking and electrical engineering industries until it was acquired.

At the end of August 2009, the group decided to move its headquarters from the Bermuda Islands to Ireland. The relocation to Dublin is scheduled for September 8, 2009. Associated with this is the conversion of Cooper Industries into a public company under Irish law .

2012 Cooper Industries was for 11.8 billion dollars American US by the Eaton Corporation acquired, which then changed its headquarters to Ireland moved.
