Coordinates: 33 ° 58 ′  S , 137 ° 43 ′  E The District Council of the Copper Coast is a local government area (LGA) in the Australian state of South Australia . The area is 773 km² and has about 14,000 inhabitants (2016).

The Copper Coast is located in the north of the Yorke Peninsula on the Spencer Gulf about 140 kilometers northwest of the metropolis of Adelaide . The area includes 28 districts and towns: Boors Plain, Cross Roads, Cunliffe, Hamley, Jericho, Jerusalem, Kadina, Kooroona, Matta Flat, Moonta, East Moonta, North Moonta, Moonta Bay, Moonta Mines, Newtown, North Beach, Paramatta, Paskeville, Port Hughes, Thrington, Tickera, Wallaroo, Wallaroo Mines, Wallaroo Plain, Warburto, Willamulka, Yelta and North Yelta. The administrative headquarters of the council is in Kadina in the center of the LGA, where about 4600 inhabitants live (2016).

The Copper Coast Council has eleven members, ten councilors are elected by the residents of the four wards (three each from Kadina, Moonta and Wallaroo Ward, one from Paskeville Ward). These four districts are defined independently of the localities. The chairman and mayor of the council is also elected by all residents of the LGA.
