Corallus blombergi is a species of snake fromthe boas family (Boidae). It occurs in Ecuador west of the Andes in forest areas, mostly below 200 meters in height. For a long time, the species was regarded as the southernmost subspecies of the ringed boa ( Corallus annulatus ). The range of the two species is clearly separated from each other.

features

Corallus blombergi reaches a length of up to 143 centimeters. The basic color of the body ranges from strong orange to pale brown to dark brown. The back has a darker pattern, which consists of 40 to 43 diamond-shaped, in the middle of the body rather oval, darker elements, the center of which is paler than the basic color. The head has a stripe or two above the eye and one or none below. The belly is dirty yellow, pale brown or pink with darker dots or spots that are more pronounced in the front. There are three Loreal and three Infraloreal shields on the head. There are 12 to 14 shields around the eye, 8 to 12 between the eyes on the top of the head. In the middle of the trunk, the back has 50 to 55 rows of smooth, hexagonal scales. The number of ventral shields is between 251 and 269, and that of subcaudal shields between 76 and 86.
