The Cordillera Real (German: Königskordillere ) is a high mountain range in the Andes highlands of Bolivia .
The Cordillera Real is a granite - folded mountains the seat of government, to the east of La Paz , km with a length of about 125 km and a width of 20th The cordillera has seven six-thousanders, from north to south:
- Pico del Norte (6070 m)
- Illampu (6368 m)
- Ancohuma (6427 m)
- Chearoco (6127 m)
- Chachacomani (6074 m)
- Huayna Potosí (6088 m)
- Illimani (6462 m)
Parts of the mountain range are still glaciated due to their proximity to the Amazon lowlands and the humid air masses rising from there, but due to global climate change , glaciation is also here - as in other regions of the world - strongly declining.
In a broader sense, the term “Cordillera Real” is also used for the entire Bolivian mountain range from the Bolivian border to Oruro , see Cordillera Central .
