Cordula Artelt

Cordula Artelt is a German educational researcher . Since February 2019 she has been W3 professor for longitudinal educational research at the Otto-Friedrich-Universität Bamberg , director of the Leibniz Institute for Educational Trajectories (LIfBi) and head of the National Educational Panel Study (NEPS) .

Academic and professional career

Cordula Artelt studied psychology at the Free University of Berlin (Diploma 1994). This was followed by a doctoral degree at the University of Potsdam (Dr. phil. In Psychology 1999), as well as academic activities at the Chair for Psychological Didactics at the University of Potsdam (1994 - 1999 with Joachim Lompscher ) and at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development in Berlin ( 1999 - 2005 with Jürgen Baumert ). In the 2004/2005 winter semester, she represented the Chair of Educational Psychology at the University of Potsdam. In 2005 , she completed her habilitation in the subjects of psychology and empirical educational research before becoming a professor (W3) for empirical educational research at the University of Bamberg (2005 - 2019). From April 2017 to January 2019 she was Head of Department 1 (Competencies, Personality, Learning Environments) at the Leibniz Institute for Educational Trajectories (LIfBi) at the Otto-Friedrich-Universität Bamberg. In April 2019 she became director of the LIfBi and project manager of the National Education Panel (NEPS). At the same time she took over the chair (W3) for longitudinal educational research at the Otto-Friedrich-Universität Bamberg.

Research priorities

Her research interests include text comprehension and reading skills , metacognition and self-regulated learning , digital skills, methods of large scale assessments, diagnostics and diagnostic skills of teachers.
