The corduliidae ( Cordulia ) are a dragonfly - genus of the subfamily Corduliinae the corduliidae in the wider sense (Cordulidae) in which three kinds are combined. The genus was established by Leach in 1815 . The name of the genus alludes to the shape of the abdomen tapering backwards and translates as club .

Corduliidae are, in particular on the chest ( thorax ) and the first abdomen - segments hairy vials. From the third segment onwards, the abdomen is only hairy on the underside.
