The corduliidae ( Cordulia ) are a dragonfly - genus of the subfamily Corduliinae the corduliidae in the wider sense (Cordulidae) in which three kinds are combined. The genus was established by Leach in 1815 . The name of the genus alludes to the shape of the abdomen tapering backwards and translates as club .
features
Corduliidae are, in particular on the chest ( thorax ) and the first abdomen - segments hairy vials. From the third segment onwards, the abdomen is only hairy on the underside. While the hair is yellow-brown, the bronze-green body color shines through. The wings are transparent. The larvae are also covered with dense hairs.
