The Corduliinae are a subfamily of the falcon dragonflies (Corduliidae) within the dragonflies . This subfamily comprises 21 genera whose species are distributed worldwide.

features

The species of the subfamily Corduliinae are mostly of medium size and metallic green, brown or black dragonflies. Some of them have a yellow pattern. The wings are mostly transparent, in the cubital area there are fewer than three cross veins and the anal loop is well developed.

Systematics

In addition to the eponymous type genus Cordulia , the Corduliinae contain representatives of another 20 genera. The taxon was established by Selys in 1871 .
