Cordwainer Smith Rediscovery Award
The Cordwainer Smith Rediscovery Award is a retrospective literary prize awarded annually by a jury for works from the field of science fiction . The award is intended to draw renewed attention to the work of wrongly forgotten or inappropriately recognized science fiction authors. It is usually awarded to authors who have already died by the Cordwainer Smith Foundation , founded in 2001, and is intended to serve as a reminder of the life and work of Cordwainer Smith .
It was first awarded to Olaf Stapledon at the 2001 Worldcon . Since then, the award has taken place at the Readercon in Burlington , Massachusetts.
