Cornelia Dietz

Cornelia (Conny) Dietz (born February 4, 1962 ) has been a member of the national goalball team in disabled sports since 1983 .

Life

From birth, Cornelia Dietz has suffered from the metabolic disease albinism , which is associated with a reduction in dye either in the skin, hair and eyes or only in the eyes. As a result, only two percent of her eyesight remained. Outlines and colors are the only things she can see. Cornelia Dietz ( MTV Stuttgart / Goalball ) is competing for the 6th time in the goalball competition for the blind at the Paralympics . Among other things, she won Paralympics gold with her team in Atlanta in 1996 . She was European Champion in 1985 and 2005 and World Champion in 2007. As the flag bearer, she led the German Paralympic team into the stadium at the opening ceremony of the 2008 Summer Paralympics in Beijing . In the run-up to the 2012 Summer Paralympics in London, she was one of the torchbearers.
