Cornelia Tausch (born April 4, 1966 in Paderborn ) is a German politician and former member of the state parliament ( SPD ).

Life and work

After attending school and graduating from high school , she studied economics from 1985 to 1992 at the University of Paderborn and at St. Olaf College, Minnesota (USA) with a degree in economics . She then worked as a research assistant at the University of Paderborn and the Bergische University in Wuppertal.

Tausch has been a member of the SPD since 1988. She was represented in numerous SPD committees, including as a member of the Wuppertal sub-district executive and as a member of the state executive of the NRW-SPD.

From 2008 to 2013 Tausch was head of the business and international affairs department at the Federation of German Consumer Organizations. Since May 2013 she has been a member of the board of the Baden-Württemberg consumer advice center.

From June 2, 2000 to June 2, 2005, Tausch was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia . She was directly elected in constituency 036 Wuppertal II .

Others

Tausch was a member of the twelfth Federal Assembly , which elected Federal President Horst Köhler on May 23, 2004 . From 2010 to 2013 she was a member of the Internet and Digital Society Enquete Commission , to which she was appointed as an expert by the SPD.

She has been a member of the ZDF television council since 2016, representing the "consumer protection" division.
