Nicole Maisch (born April 20, 1981 in Hanau ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ). She was a member of the German Bundestag from February 20, 2007 to October 23, 2017 . In 2016, she announced that she would no longer stand in the federal election in the coming legislative period.

Life and work

After graduating from high school in 2000 at the Franziskaner-Gymnasium Kreuzburg in Großkrotzenburg , she completed a degree in political science , sociology , English and media studies at the University of Trier and the University of Kassel , which she completed in 2006 as a Magister Artium (MA). From 2004 to 2005 she was electoral district officer for Antje Vollmer, member of the Bundestag, and Sigrid Erfurth, a member of the Hessian state parliament, from 2005 to 2007 .

Political party

Nicole Maisch joined the Green Youth and the Alliance 90 / The Greens party in 2003 and was chairwoman of the Green Youth Hesse from April 2004 to June 2007 . From September 2007 to December 2011 Maisch was a member of the state board of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen Hessen , as well as its spokeswoman for women's affairs.

Public offices

From April 2006 to June 2007 she was a member of the city council of Kassel . In addition, Nicole Maisch has been a member of the regional planning assembly in North Hesse since April 2007.

On 20 February 2007 she moved about the country's list of Hesse for the retired deputies Matthias Berninger in the Bundestag after and was until 2017 a member of the German Bundestag .

In the Bundestag , Nicole Maisch was the spokesperson for consumer policy and animal welfare for the Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen parliamentary group . She was a full member of the Committee on Food and Agriculture and the chairman of her parliamentary group, as well as the Committee on Legal Affairs and Consumer Protection .
