Cornelia Wiedemeyer

Cornelia Wiedemeyer (born August 6, 1961 in Bremen ) is a Bremen politician ( SPD ) and a former member of the Bremen parliament .

education and profession

She attended high school and completed commercial training from 1979 to 1981, after which she worked as a commercial clerk until 1987. From 1987 to 1991 she studied economics at the University of Bremen . From 1992 to 1995 she was a research assistant at the Institute for Economic and Structural Research (IKSF) at the University of Bremen. The employment relationship as a research assistant was suspended according to Section 35 of the Bremen Parliamentary Representatives Act during her membership in the citizenship. Wiedemeyer has been the managing director of the Association for the Promotion of Scientific Research in the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen since 2007.

In 1991 Cornelia Wiedemeyer joined the SPD. Since then she has been active in various bodies within her party.

On June 8, 1995 she became a member of the Bremen Parliament. There she was represented in the works committee Fidatas Bremen, in the works committee Performa Nord, in the state budget and finance committee and in the municipal budget and finance committee and was the deputy chairman of the SPD parliamentary group until she left the parliamentary elections in 2007. Wiedemeyer ran in the federal elections In 2002, 2005 and 2009 in second place on the Bremen SPD state list. Since the SPD in Bremen achieved two direct mandates each, its candidacy was unsuccessful.
