Cornelis Brouwer
Cornelis Brouwer (* 1634 ; † August 24, 1681 in Rotterdam ) was a Dutch painter .
Cornelis Brouwer was a painter from the Rembrandt area who was mainly active in Rotterdam . In any case, the Dutch painter Adriaen van der Werff , who was a protégé of Brouwer, says that he was a student of Rembrandt. Almost nothing is known of Cornelis Brouwer, but the only work that has been confirmed for him confirms knowledge of Rembrandt's Leiden style around 1630. The picture is the painting “The disloyal servant” painted and signed in 1634 (Elisha punishes Gehazi with Naeman's leprosy). It is located in the Old Masters Picture Gallery in Kassel , Wilhelmshöhe Palace.
