Cornelis Kick (* around 1631 probably in Amsterdam ; † March 3, 1681 in Amsterdam) was a Dutch still life painter .

Kick is the son of the genre painter Simon Kick . According to Arnold Houbraken , he was trained by his father, although he was not a still life painter. It can therefore be assumed that he also took lessons from specialists in still life. While his fruit pictures are close to the work of Jan Jamsz van de Velde (1620–1662), his flower pieces show the influence of Willem van Aelst and Jan Davidsz. de Heem . In contrast to his role models, his arrangements are less lush, but relevant and interesting. In 1665 Elias van den Broeck (1649–1708) became his pupil. At around the same time he is likely to have trained Jacob van Walscappelle (1644–1727). It was not until 1674 that Kick settled in Amsterdam. Before that he lived in a house with a garden in the outskirts of the city. In 1676 he was also the owner of a shop. This seems to be an indication that he couldn't make a living from selling his paintings alone. Nevertheless, his work must have enjoyed a high reputation from an early age.

His pictures suggest a careful study of nature. For this reason he was chosen by Jan Commelin to do 21 copperplate engravings with citrus fruits and blossoms for his book Nederlantze Hesperides , published in 1676 . Works by Kick are very rare today. Art history now ascribes a good dozen pictures to him.
