Cornwall is a Canadian city in Queens County in the province of Prince Edward Island . The city is located west of the provincial capital Charlottetown and serves as a dormitory city for many commuters .
history
Cornwall parish traces its historical origins back to a settlement founded by Europeans in the 1700s. It was agricultural until Route 1 (which is part of the Trans-Canada Highway ) was built in the early 1960s. Some districts were built near this section with Meadowbank Road. In 1995 the current districts of North River, Elliot River, East Wiltshire and York Point were incorporated.
