Queens County is one of the three counties (English county ) of the Canadian province of Prince Edward Island . The administrative seat (English shire town ) is Charlottetown .
Queens County has 77,866 people in an area of 2020.45 km². The population density is thus 38.5 inhabitants / km². According to all three figures, Queens County is the number one district. Samuel Holland founded the district in 1765 on behalf of the British King George III. and named it after his wife Sophie Charlotte von Mecklenburg-Strelitz .
