The Coronado National Forest is a total of 7200 km² forest area in the southeast of the US state Arizona . It is east and south of the city of Tucson in Counties of Cochise , Graham , Pima and, to a very small extent, Pinal County .
Ranger districts
The area is divided into several non-contiguous ranger districts :
- Santa Catalina Ranger District
- Safford Ranger District
- Nogales Ranger District
- Douglas Ranger District
- Sierra Vista Ranger District
Wilderness areas
Within the Coronado National Forest are eight declared wilderness areas ( wilderness areas ). Each ranger district has at least one wilderness area. These specially protected areas allow hiking, horse riding, camping, hunting and fishing. The use of mechanical or motorized devices such as bicycles, generators, chainsaws and cars is prohibited.

- Pajarita Wilderness (Nogales District)

- Santa Teresa Wilderness (Safford District)
