Pinal County is a county in Arizona in the United States .

history

The county was formed on February 1, 1875.

The Hohokam Pima National Monument (here with covered ruins), also known as Snaketown, has been recognized as a National Historic Landmark since April 1964 .

According to the 2010 census , Pinal County's population was 375,770. There were 61,364 households and 45,225 families. The population density was 13 people per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 70.42 percent white, 2.76 percent African American, 7.81 percent Native American, 0.60 percent Asian, 0.08 percent of residents from the Pacific island area and 15.66 percent from other ethnic groups Groups; 2.67 percent were descended from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 29.86 percent of the population.

Of the 61,364 households, 29.8 percent had children and young people under the age of 18 living with them. 56.9 percent were married couples living together, 11.5 percent were single mothers, and 26.3 percent were non-families. 21.1 percent were single households and 9.2 percent had people aged 65 years or over. The average household size was 2.68 and the average family size was 3.09.

For the entire county, the population was composed of 25.1 percent of residents under 18 years of age, 8.7 percent between 18 and 24 years of age, 27.3 percent between 25 and 44 years of age, 22.7 percent between 45 and 64 years of age 16.2 percent were 65 years of age or over. The median age was 37 years. For every 100 females there were 114.2 males, for every 100 females aged 18 and over there were 117.0 males.

The median income for a household in the county is $ 35,856 , and the median income for a family is $ 39,548. Males had a median income of $ 31,544 versus $ 23,726 for females. The per capita income was $ 16,025. 16.9 percent of the population and 12.1 percent of families are below the poverty line. 25.5 percent of these were under 18 years of age and 8.7 percent were 65 years of age or older.
