Apache Junction is a city in Pinal County in the US state of Arizona .
location
Because US Highway 60 and the Apache Trail (an old stagecoach route through the Superstition Mountains ) cross here, the city was called Apache Junction. The city of Phoenix is 50 kilometers away. In the meantime, however, the place has grown into the greater Phoenix region and its neighboring cities.
history
Due to its location at the gates of Phoenix, Apache Junction has developed into a school and business center. Characteristic for this very young place is the fluctuation of the population according to the season. During the winter months, thousands of retirees travel here with mobile homes and caravans from the colder states in the north of the USA and then return for the (too) hot summers. For this purpose, huge permanent parking spaces are offered in Apache Junction - as in many places in the Sunbelt. These seasonal residents are an economic factor.
Attractions
The Superstition Mountains are nearby . The Tonto National Forest is around 22 kilometers away,
