Corrido
The corrido is a literary and musical genre that is particularly widespread in Mexican mestizo culture . It has its origins in 15th century Spanish romances .
history
Originally, the corrido was one of the most important means of disseminating information in Mexico: the linguistic and musical simplicity of the corrido were very well suited to the requirements of oral transmission. After the arrival of the mass media in Mexican society in the second half of the 20th century, the function and thus the corrido itself changed fundamentally.
