La Cucaracha
La Cucaracha (Spanish for the cockroach, cockroach ) is a Spanish folk song. As a counterfactor , it became a Mexican revolutionary song, the chorus of which probably alludes to General Victoriano Huerta . It was called la cucaracha because of its alcohol and drug consumption , and supposedly he could not walk without marijuana . The text of individual stanzas ridicules the troops of President Venustiano Carranza and pays homage to the revolutionary and gang leader Francisco ("Pancho") Villa .
There are countless different versions of the text in which reference is made to a wide variety of people. There is also a version in 3/4 time and a somewhat less known version in 4/4 time. The tone sequence is also often used as a fanfare for consecutive horns .
