Corrie Free Church

The Corrie Free Church is a former church building of the Reformed Free Church of Scotland in the Scottish village of Corrie on the Isle of Arran in the Council Area of North Ayrshire . It is not to be confused with the Corrie Church of the Church of Scotland . In 1994 the structure was included in the Scottish List of Monuments in Monument Category B. In 2004 the Corrie Free Church was profaned and converted. It now houses two apartments.

The building was erected in 1894. It is set back from the Uferstraße ( A841 ) in the south of Corrie. The church has an elongated floor plan and is designed in a simple neo-Gothic style. The masonry is made of embossed red sandstone . The Corrie Free Church has a Socle and concludes with a slated pitched roof with decorative ridge tiles of terracotta . The entrance area is on the eaves side on the southeast side. It is designed with half-timbering and a two-winged, wooden entrance portal with a pointed arch . On the left there are three pointed arched windows in the gables . The opposite north facade is designed accordingly and is five axes wide. On the north and south sides, simple stained glass windows in Art Nouveau style are installed.
