Cortane

The Cortane was a Spanish measure of volume and was primarily used in the province of Catalonia . The measure was quite different when compared as a grain , oil, or wine measure .

  • 1 Cortane = 4 quartos = 183 ½ Parisian cubic inches = 3.7 liters
  • 3 Cortanes = 1 Arroba
  • 12 Cortanes = 1 Odre
  • 30 Cortanes = 1 carga

Oil was traded by weight it was

  • 1 cortane / oil cortane = 3408 31/33 grams
