Corwen and Bala Railway

The Corwen and Bala Railway was a British railway company based in north Wales .

The company was founded on June 30, 1862 to build a railway line from Corwen to Bala along the Dee . In Corwen there was a transition to the Llangollen and Corwen Railway and in Bala to the Bala and Dolgelly Railway . The first section to Llandrillo was opened on July 16, 1866 and on April 1, 1866 the entire route was passable.

The company was mainly financed by the Great Western Railway , which also took over the operation. On August 7, 1896, the Corwen and Bala Railway was taken over by the GWR.
