Cosima Möller

Cosima Möller , née Schulz (born April 20, 1962 in Marburg ) is a German civil lawyer and legal historian as well as a professor at the Free University of Berlin .

Life

Möller received his Abitur in 1979 at the Philippinum grammar school in Marburg. From 1980 to 1986 she studied law at the Georg-August University in Göttingen and at the Albert Ludwigs University in Freiburg . In 1989, with a grant from the Volkswagen Foundation, she did her doctorate on the subject of freedom and protection in labor law at the Institute for Roman and Common Law at Okko Behrends in Göttingen. From 1990 to 1996 she was a research assistant at Okko Behrends, and from 1997 to 1999 she received a habilitation grant from the German Research Foundation. In 2000 he completed his habilitation with the venia legendi for Roman law , civil law and recent history of private law. From 2001 to 2003 she taught as a private lecturer at the Georg-August University in Göttingen, interrupted by a substitute professorship at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich in the summer semester of 2002. In the summer semester of 2003 she was a substitute professor at the Free University of Berlin. Since 2003 she has been a university professor for civil law and Roman law at the Free University of Berlin. Möller has been Dean of the Law Faculty at the Free University of Berlin since 2013.

Projects and Research

Möller runs the project Roman Law in Latin Classes , which aims to give Berlin students an insight into Roman private law. Möller researches at the Topoi Cluster of Excellence . She examines the differences between public and private roads in Roman law. She also translates the Corpus Agrimensorum Romanorum , which contains the Roman surveying system.
