Courage Quashigah

Courage Emmanuel Kobla Quashigah (born September 9, 1947 , Kedzi, Ghana; † January 5, 2010 ) was a politician and military officer in Ghana . He was Minister of Health in the government of President John Agyekum Kufuor . Quashigah was a member of the New Patriotic Party .

Quashigah was born in Kedzi in the Volta Region in Ghana and attended secondary school in Keta, where he completed his GCE.

He began his officer career at the Military Academy in Sandhurst , Great Britain. Here he was awarded a Diploma in Economics, War Studies and Communication Studies . In 1978 Quashigah graduated from the United States Army Infantry School, followed by further training at the Canadian Staff School at the Canadian Land Forces Command and Staff College in 1987 and further training at the Ghana Command and Staff College in 1989.

In 1989 he finished his training at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA ) with a certificate in General Management.

Career

In 1978 Quashigah began his military career as a communications officer in the headquarters of the Second Infantry Brigade (Second Infantry Brigade) in Kumasi, later switched to the position of basic instructor at the Jungle Warfare School in Achiase. He held the post of commanding officer of the Ghanaian Military Police and was in command of the Armed Forces Reserve Battalion . Quashigah switched to the management of the military academy and training facility in Ghana and became a member of the Police Council.

Quashigah was Minister of Health in John Agyekum Kufuor's cabinet .

Honors

Quashigah's military career earned today's politician significant honors. In particular, he was honored by receiving the Everand Award for Oratory and Presentation at the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College. He also received the Prince Abdul Faisal Award for War Studies from the Sandhurst Military Academy, Great Britain.

Quashigah was honored for his leadership qualities as part of a mission for the blue helmet troops in Lebanon as part of UNIFIL .
