That between 4000 and 2500 BC Court Tomb of Carn, built in the Neolithic Age , is located about 50 m north of a road in the townland Carn ( Irish Na Cairn , one of three of that name in Monaghan), north of Newbliss in County Monaghan in Ireland . Court Tombs are among the megalithic chamber tombs ( English chambered tombs ) of the British Isles . With around 400 specimens, they are found almost exclusively in Ulster in the north of Ireland or in Northern Ireland .

The Court Tomb has an approximately 35 m long wedge-shaped cairn , which gave the townland its name. The facade of the U-shaped court is relatively well preserved, with large orthostats flanking the portal stones. The lintel above the entrance is in the first of the three-chamber gallery. A few facade stones can be seen on the front edge of the cairn, which is only about 40 cm high.

Carnbane's Court Tomb is 1.9 miles away.
