Court Tomb by Cleggan
The Court Tomb of Cleggan ( Irish An Cloigeann ) is a megalithic complex on Cleggan Bay, northeast of Cleggan in Connemara in County Galway in Ireland . Court Tombs are among the megalithic chamber tombs ( English chambered tombs ) of the British Isles . They are found in around 400 specimens almost exclusively in the north of Ireland or in Northern Ireland.
Only the gallery of the Court Tomb has been preserved, which consists of three north-west-south-east oriented chambers. A large capstone lies above the middle chamber. The missing courtyard was in the southeast.
Knockbrack's Court Tomb is nearby .
