The Court Tomb of Ervey ( Irish Airbhe ) is located in uneven terrain on a platform southeast of Londonderry in County Londonderry in Northern Ireland . Court Tombs are among the megalithic chamber tombs ( English chambered tombs ) of the British Isles . With around 400 specimens, they are found almost exclusively in Ulster in the north of Ireland or in Northern Ireland.

The well-preserved, east-west oriented gallery of the Court Tombs consists of two portal stones, a low entrance stone, two large side stones and an end stone. A loose stone in the chamber may have broken off the southern portal stone. The southern portal stone, broken off at the top, is about 1.0 m high and the northern one 1.3 m. The gallery is 2.8 m long and 0.95 m wide. The side stones are about 0.8 m high and the end stone 1.1 m. One stone in front of the chamber and one in the northwest are possibly cap stones. The stone to the east of the gallery is 1.3 m long, 0.95 m wide and 0.25 m thick and possibly another capstone. The stones of the exedra and the hill or its border are completely missing.

Portal Tomb by Ervey

The Ervey Tomb portal is located in County Meath and, along with the Rathkenny Tomb portal, is one of only two systems of this type in County Meath. Another portal tomb of this name is located in County Londonderry in Northern Ireland .
